Good farming monk?
ok i've tested it time and time again and here is what i have
i got forge armor (even though any armor on the game will do)
i bought the sword from henge with +5 energy (always) and put a 18% enchanting pommel in it and am using the healing 12/20/20
i got a sup rune in each of my armor....no vigors. you want your life to be as low as possible. mine is 105 if i die once it goes to 33 (which is even better)
healing 9
smite 15
protection 9
divine 13
this is my bar
^^^^and yes that is my MAX life w/o any DP
1 = protective spirit
2 = healing breeze
3 = divine boon
4 = divine spirit
5 = balthazar's aura
6 = zealots fire
7 = essence bond
8 = balthazar's spirit
cast 8 and 7 right off. then before the fight cast 6. herd them together and cast 1 then 2 right behind it. now start tanking the entire group. hit 5 at first chance. cast 2 again. now hit 4 and spammmmmmmmmmmm 3. i do around 2200 dmg over 10 sec to an area around me while gaining 12 hp per sec (6 healing breeze/2 hp per sec). the beautiful thing about it is nothing can deal more than 10 dmg with one it. so its just a matter of how many you are tanking and their attack speed. i can solo UW with this build and many other places very easily.

Reversal of Fortune is protection spell, but with a high Divine Favor and tough monsters, works as well or better than a healing spell. It stops the damage from the next attack and adds it as healing up to a max based on Protection, plus you get the divine bonus. Finally, it costs 5 energy and has a fast recharge. It has never left my monk bar since I got it.

My farming build leans on high Divine Favor healing. In that respect I use Divine Boon and alternate Signet of Devotion and Healing Touch. With more slots to devote to smites I can cast smites like Symbol of Wrath and Shield of Judgement with a high Divine Boon bonus.
It's very effective.

Here's what I use:
Balthazar's Spirit
Channeling
Divine Spirit
Divine Boon
Zealot's Fire
Balthazar's Aura
Symbol of Wrath
Shield of Judgement
Use Divine Boon to heal yourself, not a healing spell. It casts in 1/4s and has no cooldown. With Divine Spirit, Balthazar's Spirit, and Channeling, I generate enough mana. Shield of Judgement reduces the damage I take, while doing damage.

Interesting build - with the Channeling - I'll have to try that.
I also use Shield of Judgement, Symbol of Wrath and Balthazar's Aura - seems to be the most effective farming combo - especially when coupled with high Divine Favor.
I also use Smite Hex and Watchful Spirit - which is enough to counter Mesmer and Necro enemies. If none are expected I can swap Smite Hex for Zealot's Fire.
With a high DF Signet of Devotion makes for a nice infusion of health - and Healing Touch becomes very strong.

Shield of judgement is about the best farming skill, if you have that and set your attributes right theres absolutely no reason to take boon, you could then take reversal of fortune which can be nice in some areas. One of the collector ankhs with +30 health +15 energy and -1 regen is rather nice to switch to in the middle of a group too.

I take Boon, because it gives me 200+ health per second and 60+ damage per second (through Zealot's Fire). That's better than Shield of Judgement, Balthazar's Aura, and Symbol of Wrath, combined.

my farming build is not special and i think it sux but it works, Healing Breeze, Watchful Spirit, Mending, Balthazars Spirit, symbol of wrath, banish, Balthazars Aura, Shielding Hands. I use this build to farm undead north of Bergen hot Springs in to the Cursed Lands all the way to the Temple. First cast the Enchantements gather a group around you use Balthazars Aura and Symbol of wrathuse healing breeze and shielding hands sometimes and your done

With shield you dont need all that healing and you do plenty of damage. I cant think of any farming spot where id actually need the benefits of boon with a proper set up.

can't reveal my spot cuz they may do an update an snuff it (like all the rest when there is an exploit). my best advise....if you find a spot you can exploit don't spread it cuz you know they will change it
boon is 10x better than shield for this spot about 300-400 dmg being dealt to me per sec need the healing more than def

The point is that Divine Boon and Zealot's Fire will do more damage than Shield of Judgement, Balthazar's Aura, and Symbol of Wrath combined. It's not that you need the benefits of Divine Boon, it's that it's faster and safer to use Divine Boon.

well i just figured out the best set up for my monk for what i'm farming. after cruising some builds i came across the less is more post. anyone that is a monk should read that. i went and bought a sup rune of each attribute and 1 extra sup run to lower my max life to 105. with protective spirit you can't do more than 10 dmg to me with any attack add healing breeze for the life regen (which is fast cuz i got low life) and i never really get hurt while i'm popping aura and healing with zealot's fire on. protective spirit works very well for one reasone its duration is longer than its recharge rate so i you can kep it on you always. works quite well.
this is my bar:
reversal of fortune
orison
healing breeze
balthazar's aura
balthazar's spirit
essence bond
protective spirit
zealots fire
i just took on 15 of them at a time and they are all lvl 20s with physical dmg got about 500g in about 5 minutes.....lol
please if you know this place don't post it here as a favor to me i would like to keep this farming spot alive.

twicky_kid, try switching out Protective Bond for Protective Spirit. The reason why both Balthazar's Spirit and Essence Bond are used is to cancel out the Protective Spirit energy loss.

I gotta clap for theclam's tip.
That divine boon works at its best.
I use slightly different build:
Divine boon - going in and spamming.
Symbol of Wrath - to have finish the battle faster and kill not attacking mob.
Aura of Faith - 100 (not counting heal from divine boon) from divine is already nice.
Zealots - massive damage from spamming divine.
Blessed sig - when 1vs1 (like boss).
Retribution - vs high damage mob.
Essence.
Balty spirit.
Don't even need any other spell. Actually essence, balty spirit, zealots and divine boon is all that needed.
Edit: just tried with chanelling. too much energy lol

Here is my farming build and how to use it. Mostly used on ettins in Nebo Terrace but I'm sure it could be used for any type of physical damage monster. Reason for Baltazar's Spirt over Essence Bond is because Essence Bond only gives you energy on a physical attack. So any damage done by elementalist monsters dont become energy. Batlazar's Spirit converts all damage into energy. And the reason for Peace and Harmony is the extra ping for the energy regen allowing you to cast without ever running out of energy.
Farming Build - 10 Healing, 15 Smiting, 11 Divine
Runes - Superior Smiting, Minor Divine, Minor Healing (+1 Healing Scalp)
Skills - Reversal of Fortune, Orison of Healing, Healing Touch, Peace and Harmony (elite), Symbol of Wrath, Baltazar's Aura, Zealot's Fire, Baltazar's Spirit
Technique - This farming build is strictly for ettin farming in Nebo Terrace. First upon entering the area, cast Baltazar's Spirit on yourself. Before you engage battle, cast Zealots Fire and Peace and Harmony on yourself. This allows you to have self healing damage and still 4 pings of energy regeneration. After you have engaged the monsters, cast Baltazar's Aura. Do not cast Zealot's Fire for that will drain your healing time. Before you cast Zealot's Fire, cast heals until ettins begin healing themselves. At that point, toss Zealot's Fire on yourself. After that, spam heals until they are dead. If Baltazar's Aura is recharged and you have the energy, recast it for maximum damage. And after each battle, recast Zealot's Fire and Peace and Harmony to make sure you keep those two enchantments flowing.

I don't quite understand why you all use healing spells. Either spam divine boon for healing or use reversal of fortune with divine boon as a emergency backup. Also what's up with nobody using retribution?????
